Sorting
of items using the ELiMS® Sorting
Station is a breeze. The librarian simply puts the book on
the sorting pad and the system immediately displays on the
screen, which category and compartment the book belongs to.
The system literally takes away the stress and strain associated
with book sorting.
While
the book is being scanned, the RFID tag is automatically 'armed'
so that the book is ready to return to the shelf.
Due
to the seamless link with the host computer system, the librarian
can be prompted immediately if there are special instructions
relating to the book being sorted, e.g. the book has been
reserved by a patron.
For
even higher automation, an automatic sorter with conveyor
belts may be installed which will divert the items automatically
to the correct collection bins/shelves.
