ST
LogiTrack Pte Ltd was awarded a contract to design,
supply, and install an Electronic Library Management
System (ELiMS®) for the region's
first performing arts library, library@esplanade.
Situated
at The Esplanade, Theatres on the Bay, library@esplanade
is the second specialised public library - after library@orchard,
under National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore. The
layout of the library is such that there are four clusters
or "villages" of Music, Dance, Theatre and
Film, creating an environment that supports creativity,
learning and entertainment for the layperson as well
as for the professional artiste.
Blending
into the artistic and creative environment, ELiMS®
enables patrons with a premium membership to borrow
and return any type of library items* on their own and
at their convenience.
With
the whole process fully automated, librarians can now
focus on providing value-added services such as membership,
attending to enquiries and helping patron locate the
library materials of their choice.
ELiMS®
is a proven RFID-based system that has been deployed
by National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore, ST College,
Singapore Airline (SIA), Institute of Systems Science
(ISS) and Singapore Management University (SMU) to automate
and manage its libraries since 1997.

For a start, library@esplanade has about 50,000 volumes
of performing arts materials. The collection comprises
books, audio-visual items, DVD and VHS tapes of films,
dance performances, opera and orchestral performances,
and Broadway productions
